Worship Round-Up (May 3, 2015)

a weekly review of Sunday worship to provide resource and further reflection from our Sunday service.

Sermon
"Priorities"
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Pastor Chuck Mullikin
Listen to the sermon here

Our goal weekly is to have services that connect the sermon with the music to lead us into worship that extends beyond Sundays into every day in between. Last week we ended with a pensive version of "Blessed be your name". We decided to provide continuity between the weeks by beginning with the song but in the upbeat anthem style in which it was written. We did communion before the sermon to remind us of God's grace and forgiveness before hearing about the priorities God desires for us to make in order to honor and glorify Him. We then ended by singing our theme song for the "Stress" series- My worth is not in what I own. Our priorities are not in making money, making a name for ourselves, the things I have or who I am... Our priority is loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. May we continue singing this week "Be Thou My Vision" as pastor Chuck called us to have the shema be the lens by which we live our lives through the week.
